Western powers speak publicly
of underground Iranian nuclear fuel plant
A stepped-up ultimatum is issued to Iran re a heretofore non-public underground nuclear fuel facility near Qum.
Western intelligence knew about it before, but they’re going public, they say, because their sources have now been … “breached.” (More like the opposite? Put to death?)
It’s also worth noting (acc to mideast websites) that during an air show in Iran this week, 9/22, a midair collision destroyed Iran’s only AWACs plane. Speculation: they are now more vulnerable to Israeli airstirkes.

Wow. The colorful Iranian president with the difficult to spell name comes back with a blast — telling Obama to buzz off — within minutes of the Brown-Sarkozy-Obama announcement in Pittsburgh.
Well, all this will cheer the Likud Lobby, and serves as a reminder that when we prattle about the war in Iraq and the war in Pakghanistan, we are talking about Iran’s western and eastern borders.

White House peeps already telling the press that they’ll deliver a three-month inspection ultimatum to Tehran when they all sit in Europe next week.
Somebody’s sandhill just got kicked over … OURS.
Crassly thinking: Oil back to $100 before Halloween? Stocks back to the March lows, there to be tested — Abgrund or Urgrund? All bets off?

Well, in the course of a few hours the ultimatum package has gone from three months to “a few weeks” according to the Times.

And now, Sunday, the Iranians shoot off a bunch of missiles. Testing one two three. Brisk, brisk …

Well, after a great flurry of rather uncontrolled news, clearly the lid has been put back on.
Don’t disturb the People.
Don’t Tap the Glass.
In that the western/ israeli apparats knew of this quite a while ago, it’s perhaps a less huge story than it seemed as it broke. ??
The Iranian reaction however is energetic.
The oil markets don’t seem to fear disruption. Oil circa $66, steady, dropping it seems from $70, which seems a ceiling pending geopolitical craziness.
