The Wall cracked
Nineteen years ago

I’ve revamped my little memoir of that happy week or so, with a lot more photos and a bit more scrip.

As I read this it brought lots of memories of our post wall visits to Berlin, it always brings a sense of belonging to me when I am there, I feel at home but it never was my home.

It has a magical air about the place and no matter where you go there is always something to focus thoughts on, sometimes happy but mostly sad times as at the forefront of one’s thoughts is always the picture of the war torn days between 39 and 45.

One day I will return and look for more of the evidence as when I have been before I were always trying to put the thoughts behind me, they were sad times and I consider the people who are still living with the nightmares of being there during the problem days.

One day there will be TRUE peace in Berlin, then it will be complete.

From where do you come, to visit Berlin?

    I haven’t been since 1997.

Thanks for your contact ed, i am from Hull in East Yorkshire England.

we have been to Berlin about 4 times and usually bring our caravan and stay at Campingsite Tiefensea just outside of Berlin.
We found it usefull to drive to Arensfeld where we can leave the car and take the trains into Berlin. A very fascinating place to visit indeed.
